Tell me a little bit about yourself?
I’m 33, I have two kids, a little 2 year and a 4-year-old, a boy and girl and I work in aged care, casually.

What was life like before Jenny Craig?
Before Jenny Craig I was a little bit lazy, and I just thought that something needed to change. I wanted to be a better person, I wanted to be healthier and so I started looking at programs and diets. But then I thought, it’s not a diet, I need to actually change for a longer time, I need to have a lifestyle change and I just called Jenny Craig and I went in and I haven’t looked back.

How did you find Jenny Craig?
It was a bit daunting at first because I think when you get to that point you think oh wow I’ve let myself go too far, so making the phone call, that was easy but walking in to the centre was hard. But when I was leaving, I felt like I was in control and I felt empowered which made me feel so good.

What would you say is your proudest moment for you on the program?
I realistically joined Jenny Craig thinking ‘I’ll just lose I about 10 to 12 kilos’ but when I got there it was really easy! I stuck to the program which I didn’t think would be as easy as it was. When you stand on the scales and you see the numbers falling off, it just kept me going it’s very motivating. Then we people started complimenting me and I felt so good, so then I started thinking ‘oh yeah I can do a little bit more’. Each week I just went a bit further and I thought ‘why not?’ I just need to lose a few more kilos…so I did it! I lost 20 kilos in 30 weeks, which is something that I could never have done by myself. That’s my proudest moment, just achieving something (and more) that I set out to do.

What was the best thing about having a Consultant?
I chose Jenny Craig because I wanted a program that kept me accountable. I knew that it was something I realistically could have never achieved by myself. I needed a Consultant, I needed the accountability, I needed to turn up somewhere every week and make sure that I had a great week. Having someone in the back of your mind, meant that I made better decisions when I went out and made sure I stuck to the Jenny Craig program. Because at the end of the day, there’s no point signing up if you’re not going to stick to it!

How did Jenny Craig work for being a busy mum and having a family?
Jenny Craig worked with my busy family life because it was convenient. I just looked at my menu and I could see what I had to put in the microwave. It took out the thinking about what to eat and actually gave me more time to spend with my kids.

Let’s talk food, what did your day look like on Jenny Craig?

I would have my breakfast, which could range from porridge or an oat and apricot bar (which is what I would choose if I was rushing out the door). After that I would have fruit serves and a milk serve followed by my snack which could be anything from a self-saucing chocolate pudding, choc chip bites or popcorn. Then for lunch I might have a beef pie, which is something I really liked on Jenny Craig, I almost always had a hot lunch and dinner! For dinner I would have lamb moussaka, chicken satay or chicken pad Thai. I had a big range of different foods, there was a lot of variety.

What would you say to someone who was considering Jenny Craig?
If anyone is considering Jenny Craig I would say, just start. Starting anything, whether it being a job or starting at a new school for someone younger is the hardest thing to do, but once you start you won’t regret it. Pardon the pun I guess; you don’t have anything to lose by going in to Jenny Craig…but so much to gain. What I mean by that is, is that I’ve gained so many things, like confidence and energy and I’ve only been going to Jenny Craig for 30 weeks. At the start, they were Consultants, but I see them more than I see some of my friends, so they’ve become my friends and I enjoy going in, so for anyone who is thinking about doing it, just start!
