How long have you been a Jenny Craig consultant for?
I have 4 years’ experience as a Jenny Craig Consultant.
Please tell us a bit about your background:
I’ve always worked with the public; I was a hairdresser for many years then worked with wigs helping people with cancer. Prior to Jenny Craig I was working in a gym as an instructor; I figure I just like helping people feel good about themselves. I’m a mum with 2 teenagers who keep me on my toes.
Why did you decide to become a Jenny Craig Consultant?
My niece was on the program and we would discuss it, I became interested and I was enjoying watching her change. A position became available in the centre she was attending and so I applied.
What do you love about your job?
I love my job because of the satisfaction I get seeing people transform not only physically but mentally. For clients to change their relationship with food is very rewarding, They let you into a very private part of their life which means they trust me and know I’m not there to judge but help. To me it’s about keeping it real…life happens and it’s about the choices we make, we can only learn from our past choices.
How do you celebrate your clients’ wins?
Each client is different so celebrations are based on the individual, some like a song and dance made but others just like to keep it simple. Mainly it’s about reinforcing what a great job they have done and believing in themselves and setting our next goal together.
What has been your most satisfying moment as a consultant so far?
I’ve had lots of satisfying moments watching clients get excited each week by the scales and I think helping people get to their goal weight and keeping it off by monthly weigh-ins means to me that we have achieved what we set out to do when we first met. I have made some great connections with clients and I love it here.
