Spiced Apples

Try this subtly spiced apple recipe for a cosy start to an Autumn morning


Serves: 2


Preparation time: 15 minutes


Vegetarian: Yes


Ingredients:

  • 2 medium apples, peeled and chopped
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • Star anise (optional)
  • 1 tbsp natural sweetener
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup water

Method:

  1. Place all ingredients in a small saucepan and cover
  2. Simmer for 10 minutes until the apples have softened.

    Enjoy!

    Dietitian tip: Granny Smith, Fuji and Pink Lady are great varieties of apples to cook with, they tend to hold their shape the best.
